Tracking chilly conditions this week with a big warmup on the way
TODAY: South to southwest winds this afternoon will be enough to warm us above freezing this afternoon. Expect highs to top out in the mid-30s under partly cloudy skies.
TONIGHT: Not a big warm up, but the progress holds overnight, as temperatures drop only to near 20 by early Thursday morning thanks to a continued south breeze under still partly cloudy skies.
EXTENDED: Partly cloudy skies will clear late Thursday night. Until then, they linger as southwest winds warm us into the 40s. A cold front Thursday night will clear clouds to the south, but drop us into the 30s Friday afternoon. A big warm up ensues on Saturday, as a warm front pushes through. This leaves us partly to mostly cloudy, but we likely stay dry. Warmth will surge over the next few days as a result. Temperatures climb into the 50s Saturday and Sunday, with 60s on the way for Monday. This comes to an end with a cold front on the way by Tuesday morning. Some rain and thunder will hold in the forecast for Monday night and Tuesday morning, with cooler air behind the front on Tuesday.
