Tracking a pattern that brings wind and warmth into the weekend
TODAY: It's more sunshine on Wednesday, with a wind from the southwest sustained around 10-15 mph. Temperatures on Tuesday climbed further than anticipated, so we'll adjust the forecast today to compensate. Given an even more favorable set up for warmth, expect upper 70s, near 80 for some this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Warmth is a continued trend overnight. With a continued yet relaxed south breeze, and increasing cloud cover, temperatures will likely remain in the mid-50s to start Thursday.
EXTENDED: On Thursday, we should yet again rocket temps back into the upper 70s, if not near 80. This comes with partly cloudy skies and a stout wind from the south sustained in the 10-20 mph range and gusting as high as 25 mph. Winds will be even gustier on Friday, gusting in the 30-35 mph range in the afternoon. Moisture increases on Friday, bringing a chance for spotty showers in the morning, but most rainfall will hold off until a cold front arrives in the evening. This will bring widespread moderate to heavy rainfall across the region. Timing currently places arrival generally after 7 p.m. Friday in our western counties, with rainfall exiting Saturday morning. We have potential to see widespread totals of more than an inch of rainfall, with some seeing almost 2 inches. Things will start to dry up by Saturday afternoon. Cooler air settles in behind the front with highs on Saturday doing well to hit 60. We'll remain dry, and start next week in the upper 60s for highs.
