Tracking pleasant trick-or-treating conditions

TODAY: Monday starts cloudy and wet, but things will dry up by the afternoon. Beyond the wet ground from the rain we measured over the weekend, additional showers and drizzle will remain early Monday. Showers will start to taper by mid-to-late morning. This afternoon, clouds will remain, but we'll likely see increasing sunshine.

TONIGHT: It looks like it's all treat and no trick tonight, as dry and mild conditions are in place for your trick-or-treating hours. Temperatures will fall out of the 60s, and into the 50s through the evening, before dropping into the 40s by early Tuesday. Winds tonight remain light, and generally from the southwest.

EXTENDED: With excess moisture at the surface and a calm and cool morning, we may see some fog early Tuesday morning, before becoming mostly sunny. Sunshine and a generally southerly wind of 5-10 mph puts us in the low 70s for highs. Partly cloudy skies return Wednesday and Thursday as we climb into the low 70s each day. By Friday, a large upper level trough of low pressure over the plains will pull enough moisture into the Midwest to bring scattered showers and storms into mid-Missouri. This will also drive a surface low through the region, which will bring a better focus for rainfall into mid-MO on Saturday. Our best chances for rain look to be focused on Saturday, but lingering showers are possible on Sunday as well. Temperatures fall from near 70 on Friday, to mid-60s on Saturday and Sunday.
