Tracking incoming rain with a decrease in temperatures

Today: Afternoon highs meander into the low to mid 70s as winds remain strong out of the south gusting up to 28 mph. Showers continue to traverse throughout Central Missouri driven by an incoming cold front.

Tonight: Heavier bands of showers remain throughout much of Mid-Missouri as the cold front slowly pushes just to the west of Boone county. Temperatures cool near the 50 degree mark as winds continue out of the south with gusts up to 20 mph possible.

Extended: Showers continue throughout Mid-Missouri throughout all of Tuesday eventually exiting east by late Tuesday night. Rainfall totals anywhere from 1" to 3" are possible. The heaviest bands of rainfall totals remain towards the I-44 corridor thanks to the center of low pressure passing nearby. Wednesday looks to become mostly sunny before clouds move back into place the rest of the week into the weekend. Scattered showers are possible Friday afternoon. Highs remain into the lower 60s throughout the second half of the week into the weekend.
