Tracking isolated overnight storms with high heat returning

Tonight: A cold front draped across southern Iowa and northern Missouri will fire up some scattered storms throughout the overnight hours. Most chances of these storms look to stay off to the northeast of Central Missouri, but a few isolated storms could make their way up towards Macon and Monroe counties. Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s.

Tomorrow: Storms and clouds push out of Central Missouri as temperatures quickly heat up into the mid-90s as the heat index borders 100 degrees. Skies remain mostly sunny with winds remaining out of the south.

Extended: Temperatures and sky conditions remain the same heading into Tuesday before a cooldown begins by Wednesday. An incoming cold front on Wednesday brings cooler temperatures and chances for overnight scattered showers lasting through Thursday. highs dramatically fall into the mid-70s heading into the second half of the week.
