Tracking morning rainfall that clears this evening
TODAY: Friday is starting with shower chances as rain moves into mid-MO from the southwest this morning. Showers will persist through the morning, bringing light to moderate rain and cloudy skies for communities along and south of I-70. A stray shower is possible north of I-70, especially east of highway 63, but most in the north will stay dry, and have a better shot at sunshine. Temperatures here will reach the upper 80s, while those under rain and clouds will likely get stuck in the 70s and low 80s.
TONIGHT: Rain fall will largely exit by late afternoon and evening, so Friday night football looks like it will be dry. Skies will slowly start to clear behind the rain, so mostly clear skies should reveal parts of the night sky.
EXTENDED: By early Saturday, we'll be watching a weak front pushing moisture south. By the afternoon, storms will begin to develop ahead of the front. Rainfall will isolated, to sparsely scattered, so you'll still find plenty of dry time. By Sunday, the front pushes most of the moisture just south of us, but we can't currently rule out a stray shower. Still, you should expect a mostly dry day. Atmospheric moisture looks to be relatively modest through much of next week. However, thanks to an upper level low stubbornly lingering overhead in some fashion through Wednesday, we'll keep some lift in the atmosphere. This will contribute to minute rain chances, but generally less than 20% Monday through Wednesday. Essentially, next week is looking dry. Things start to change by Thursday into next weekend, but there is currently high uncertainty in how things play out, so a small rain chance shows up on Thursday. Temperatures won't change much in the next 7 days, so expect daily highs in the upper 80s.
