Tracking a warm up that brings rain for the holiday weekend
TODAY: Mostly sunny skies return today. With high pressure at the surface, humidity remains low. As the high pushes east, our winds will turn southerly through the day. Expect a slightly warmer day than Monday, with highs in the mid-80s.
TONIGHT: Skies remain clear tonight. Temperatures fall to near 60 overnight, with light south winds.
EXTENDED: A slow warming trend continues into the weekend. Wednesday, we get to near 90, with more widespread low-to-mid 90s on Thursday. Southerly flow aloft amplifies Thursday and Friday, bringing more humidity into the forecast. Friday, expect mid 90s, with enough humidity to make it feel like upper 90s. A chance for storms will develop Friday evening as a cold front moves in from the north. Timing is still uncertain, but it will likely slow and stall, keeping rain in the forecast for much of Saturday. This will have an impact on temperatures, keeping the weekend in the 80s. As of now, the best chance for rain comes Friday and Saturday, but small chances for rain will linger through the 4th.
