Tracking some short lived relief from the heat

TODAY: Wednesday is shaping up cooler, making for a much more tolerable day in terms of how it feels as you walk out the door. A cold front is slowly pushing through the region this morning, and may re-initiate some shower or thunderstorm activity this afternoon near I-44. Still, expect a mostly dry day, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s with little heat index factor.

TONIGHT: Skies will clear this evening, before some high clouds move in by early Thursday. Temperatures drop into the 60s.

EXTENDED: Thursday starts crisp, with temps in the 60s, and dewpoints in the 50s. Some rainfall will likely pass by to our southwest through Thursday morning, temporarily increasing our cloud cover. Still, skies should remain partly cloudy, and allow temperatures to climb back into the upper 80s. By Friday morning, we'll be watching some activity moving in out of Nebraska and Kansas. This activity may bring some showers and storms through the first half of Friday. In the meantime, humidity is surging up again, making 90s feel closer to low triple digits. By Saturday, Temperatures climb into the upper 90s, but we continue to feel like triple digits. A cold front is forecast to move through Saturday night, bringing rain, and some relief for early next week.
