Tracking overnight storms before dangerous heat returns

Tonight: Scattered showers and storms will move into northwestern parts of Central Missouri leading to increased chances to see strong to severe storms north of highway 70 tonight from 8 PM- 2AM. Strong winds and damaging hail will be the main threats tonight. The overnight lows bottoms out into the lower 70's.

Tomorrow: Early morning showers and storms will push out to the east by the afternoon hours leading to lingering cloud cover. The afternoon highs will top out into the mid-90's with the heat index surpassing 100 degrees. A heat advisory remains in effect from 11 AM-9PM.

Extended: Temperatures will continue to increase Monday and Tuesday as a Weather Alert Day has been issued by the Stormtrack Weather Team. the heat index is set to surpass 105 degrees both days leading to dangerous conditions if not properly hydrated and indoors after extended periods outside. Temperatures will remain in the 90's through the week with drier conditions expected.
