Tracking a rainy Friday before a dry Saturday

TODAY: Showers and storms will continue throughout Friday morning, with the most widespread activity expected in the morning. We will likely see rain on radar this afternoon, but it will be very isolated, with much more dry time, especially along and north of I-70. Some sunshine may peak through the clouds through the late morning and afternoon hours, which may be just enough to get us into the upper 70s.

TONIGHT: Folks east of HWY 63 will have a chance at hit and miss showers and storms through the overnight hours tonight, with dry weather expected by sunrise Saturday.

EXTENDED: Starting cloudy, skies break apart through the morning on Saturday, leaving us partly cloudy to mostly sunny by the afternoon, with temperatures in the low 80s. Sunday, winds turn more southerly and warm us into the upper 80s, despite another round of rain moving through during the early hours. Another atmospheric disturbance looks to initiate a round of storms that looks to focus on the first half of the day. Then, upper level high pressure brings hot and dry conditions to the region. Temperatures remain in the 90s much of next week, with heat index values near 100 for the first half of the week.
