Tracking a stubborn system that leaves the week wet

TODAY: We're tracking rain slowly making its way into mid-Missouri this morning. This system will have to fight some dry air in place, so showers will take some time to spread over the region. Showers will be very sporadic and far between this morning, with an emphasis on our western counties. East of 63, folks will still see a mostly dry day until this evening. Otherwise, it's a grey sky with highs near 70 this afternoon.

TONIGHT: More scattered showers and storms begin to develop after 6 p.m., becoming more widespread further into the evening. Some more organized thunderstorms will push into mid-MO from the southwest, but weaken as they arrive. We'll likely see rain from the remnants scattered across the region for much of the night. Temperatures are warm overnight, only dropping into the low 60s by morning.

EXTENDED: Speaking of, Wednesday morning will start with some shower activity, but the focus for Wednesday will be a cold front lifting to the northeast that may instigate some stronger storms. The threat for severe weather is low with this line of storms, but all types of severe are possible with these as they pass through Wednesday evening. Out ahead of these storms, temperatures have started to look warmer and warmer. Expect highs in the mid 70s. By Thursday, we're dealing with the cold and cloudy side of the system. Expect grey skies, spot showers, and highs in the 60s. Friday, we start to clear out, with temperatures trying to reach mid-70s. The weekend still looks warm with abundant sunshine and southerly wind. Highs settle in the 80s through early next week.
