Tracking rain moving out, and heat moving in

TODAY: Showers ongoing this morning will mostly come to an end around sunrise for most, with those south and east of Jefferson City holding on to the moisture a little bit longer. While drier weather is forecast for much of the late morning, a spot shower or sprinkle will still be possible until early afternoon, where we will begin to look for some clearing skies. Skies will stay partly to mostly cloudy, but we will likely begin to see some breaks in the clouds this afternoon, leading to mostly clear skies overnight. Still, it won't be soon enough to warm us out of the low 60s.

TONIGHT: Skies stay clear, allowing temperatures to fall into the mid-40s.

EXTENDED: Saturday is clear and cool, with sunshine struggling to get us back to the 70s by the afternoon. Many will stay in the upper 60s. The warmup continues Sunday,, with highs approaching 80 under partly cloudy skies. There's a brief chance for showers Sunday morning, but it's a quick passing chance. Monday through Tuesday, temperatures will approach 90 in a very warm pattern. Humidity will also climb, making it feel like 90s both days. The heat continues through the end of the work week, where we start to see a break down of the pattern causing the warmth.
