Tracking near record highs with weekend storms

Today: Temperatures will hover in the upper '70s Wednesday afternoon peaking near the record high of 78 degrees. Skies remain mostly clear with winds out of the southwest. Gust possible up to 25 mph. An elevated fire risk stands today due to the low relative humidity.

Tonight: Temperatures slowly decrease to near 40 degrees with mostly clear skies.

Extended: A passing dry cold front moves in Thursday capping temperatures to the mid-'50s with partly cloudy skies. Friday a warm front slides through Central Missouri warming us up before possible showers and storms move in Saturday and Sunday.
