Tracking a mild Christmas, late weekend rain
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with temperatures in the lower 20s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the mid-40s.
EXTENDED: Clear skies and light winds once again bring us down into the low 20s for a cold start to Thursday. Tomorrow is slightly cooler with a dry cold front working through the area, dropping our temperatures into the lower to mid-40s under sunshine. A warm front begins lifting into the area Wednesday night into Thursday, bringing in south/southeasterly winds that will send us back above freezing Thursday morning, followed by a breezy day with highs in the upper 50s. Christmas Eve is looking even warmer with the warm front to our north, bringing in gusty south winds and highs in the mid-upper 60s. We'll likely be just under record highs for the day as the cold front works through. Right now it's looking like we'll be too dry to get much precipitation in our area, but points east could see rain Friday afternoon and evening. Saturday is about 10 degrees cooler, but we still manage to get into the upper 50s on Christmas Day. Sunday looks warm near 60 before another area of low pressure works through the region, potentially triggering some showers late Sunday night into Monday. Any lingering rain would clear out early Monday, but we'll see another system potentially move in by Tuesday, dropping us into the upper 40s with a chance of rain. Overall the trend still looks warmer than average to close out the year.
