Tracking a stubborn low’s slow exit from mid-Missouri

TONIGHT: Things won't change much by this afternoon. Expect dreary, breezy, and wet conditions with temperatures hanging near 50 through the early evening. Showers will gradually come to an end by the evening hours with our eastern most counties seeing the last of the rain as it leaves. Clouds will likely linger into early Saturday. With all the moisture here at the surface, if winds die down, we may see some dense fog as well.

SATURDAY: Fog and lingering clouds will try to clear by late morning, with afternoon hours bringing the best chance at seeing the sun again. Temperatures will climb a whole ten degrees warmer Saturday afternoon. Expect a high around 60 degrees.

EXTENDED: The sunshine is here to stay all weekend, warming us into the upper 50’s on Sunday. That warmer weather takes a hit early next week with some cooler air arriving by Monday. Highs will get knocked back to near 50, where things will stay for much of next week. Overnight lows will threaten the freezing mark just about each night, so we’ll be tracking a shot at our first frost Monday night through Thursday night. A passing disturbance looks to bring our best shot at rain Tuesday night into Wednesday. As cool as we’ll be, it’s possible to mix in a wet snowflake or two, but the chances look very slim at this point.
