Tracking a beautiful afternoon before a warm up on Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to start, with clouds building in toward afternoon. Warmer and breezy with south winds up to 20 mph. Highs in the low to mid-80s.

EXTENDED: We're in for a gorgeous night that is slightly warmer as winds will begin to shift to the south overnight. Friday starts off mild and breezy with south wind gusts up to 20-25 mph. Highs get back above average into the lower 80s during the day. Clouds begin to filter in by late afternoon as a cold front approaches from the northwest, bringing a chance for a few showers after sunset. A few showers might move in before high school football games end, especially north of I-70. As that front slides south of Mid-Missouri on Saturday, temperatures will only reach the mid-upper 70s. The cool down is short-lived as strong southwest winds aloft push in much warmer air to the region. Highs on Sunday get into the upper 80s, with near 90 possible on Monday and Tuesday. The middle and end of next week are a bit more unclear as the pattern could shift by late week, bringing a chance of rain and slightly cooler temperatures.
