WATCH: Derek Chauvin reacts to guilty verdict in George Floyd killing

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted Tuesday of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.

Floyd died after Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than 9 minutes last summer. Floyd's death sparked protests around the country, including Columbia.

A courtroom camera was focused on Chauvin as the verdict was read.

Chauvin will be sentenced in eight weeks.
