Tracking snow, mix, and rain moving in Tuesday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 20s.

TOMORROW: Temperatures start off near freezing with precipitation moving in by mid-morning. A wintry mix is possible along and north of I-70 through mid-afternoon, allowing for some slick spots through late afternoon. Temperatures warm up by evening, changing precipitation over to rain as gusty south winds ramp up.

EXTENDED: Rain continues through Wednesday morning, and is followed by much colder air behind a cold front. If colder air can catch up to the front, lingering precipitation could turn over to snow by late afternoon into Wednesday night. If the front moves out quickly, we likely won't see much mix or snow. Thursday starts off dry and cloudy, but another low pressure system to our southwest could send widespread precipitation across the state Thursday night into Friday morning. The precipitation type we see will rely heavily on the track of the system, so stay with ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather as details become more clear. Friday into the weekend will be dry, with warmer temperatures into the 40s by Sunday.
