Tracking a cold day

THIS AFTERNOON: Conditions will remain cold with winds keeping things at a feels like temperature in the 20s.

TONIGHT: Partly cloud skies stick around tonight. Lows don’t look as rough, only falling into the upper 20’s.

EXTENDED: Most of Wednesday is looking decent, with clouds increasing toward the afternoon and evening. Highs will once again get into the middle 40’s, but we’re tracking the approach of our next system. Precipitation holds off until at least Wednesday evening as it moves in from the south. As temperatures cool off overnight, that rain is expected to mix in some snow. This still looks like a benign system since it’s lacking a ton of cold air and moisture, but some light grassy accumulations could be possible Thursday morning. That system wraps up toward the afternoon as it spins off to the east. Temperatures will be stuck in the upper 30’s Thursday afternoon, but improve into the weekend. Highs get back into the middle 40’s Friday through Sunday as we stay quiet.
