Temperature rollercoaster headed to mid-Missouri

THIS AFTERNOON: A few showers have popped up south of I-70 but for the most part, the cool, dreary weather is expected to continue the rest of the day. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s.

TONIGHT: Another cool night is ahead with temperatures holding in the low to mid 40s.

EXTENDED: This frontal boundary will wobble back north tomorrow, getting temperatures at least into the upper 50’s to some lower 60’s. Some more showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible into the evening Tuesday. These look to be a little heavier, with amounts closer to 0.25-0.50”. Things dry out by Wednesday afternoon, and depending on how quick clouds leave, we could sneak into the upper 60’s. The warming trend continues Thursday with highs threatening 80. Another frontal boundary will put an end to that and bring back shower and thunderstorm chances late Thursday into Friday. Temperatures will drop into the 50’s Friday and stay there through the weekend. Another shot of cold, winter-like air is possible next week.
