Tracking a frigid fall Friday morning

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows falling into the upper 30s to low 40s. Patchy frost possible for areas north of Highway 36.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs near 60. Not as breezy with clouds increasing by evening.

EXTENDED: A weak disturbance riding along a cold front to our west will bring a chance for scattered showers on Saturday, tapering off toward evening. Rain amounts will be between 0.1" and 0.25". Clouds exit early on Sunday, but even with sunshine temperatures will stay around 60 on Sunday afternoon. By Monday, cooler air begins to exit east, allowing high pressure to build in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Temperatures rebound into the upper 60s on Monday, and gradually warm through the week into the mid-upper 70s. We remain rain-free for much of next week, continuing the drier than average stretch.
