Dry morning, storms likely this afternoon and evening

SUNDAY: We're dry this morning and much cooler today thanks to increasing cloud cover and chances for rain. Temperatures will top out in the mid 70s around lunchtime and quickly fall as rain chances increase through the late-afternoon and evening. Expect a few showers between 2-4pm, with heavier rain and storms arriving after 5pm. Those will bring chances for lightning, pea-sized hail and gusty winds. These storms will last through 10-11pm.

TONIGHT: Winds will be breezy out of the northwest. Temperatures will be cool out the door Monday, in the mid-to-upper 40s.

EXTENDED: A few spot sprinkles are possible as an upper-level low pivots atop mid-MO Monday morning. For the most part, it will just bring passing clouds through the day. Temperatures will be much cooler with highs in the mid 60s for the majority of the week and lows in the 40s. Another cold front Thursday could bring evening cooler weather with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s by Friday.
