Tracking summer-like temperatures this weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable. Lows in the mid-upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer. Highs in the low 80s.

EXTENDED: High pressure continues to build in the upper levels of the atmosphere, allowing warm southerly breezes to pick up over the region. This will bring wind gusts up to 20 mph on Saturday, sending temperatures into the upper 80s. A cold front will approach late Saturday night and slowly make its way east on Sunday. This will increase cloud cover a bit on Sunday, and cool our temperatures into the upper 70s to around 80. A few showers will be possible Sunday afternoon as the front moves through Mid-Missouri. Next week, cooler air starts to filter in early in the week thanks to an upper level trough diving south from Canada just to our east. We'll see a dramatic temperature shift as highs fall into the 60s by Tuesday with lows getting into the 40s for much of the week. The pattern continues to be fairly dry with minimal chances for rain.
