Flash flooding possible east of highway 63 tonight

TONIGHT: A flash flood watch is in effect across eastern portions of mid-Missouri. Heavy rainfall is expected overnight, which could cause roads to flood early Sunday morning. Temperatures fall into the low 70s tonight.

SUNDAY: The heavy rain should taper off before sunrise tomorrow. (Some spots may even stay completely dry overnight, especially west of HWY 63). A couple more storms are possible by tomorrow afternoon. We're expecting the heat and humidity to be abundant tomorrow. Look for high temperatures near 90 with heat index values around 100º.

EXTENDED: Several rounds of storms are expected through the next 7 days. An active weather pattern that could drop widespread amounts of 3-4" of rain over several days could be possible, with localized higher amounts. There's a chance some of these storms could contain a severe risk, but confidence in that is low at this time. Temperatures look to stay cooled off due to these storm chances too.
