Tracking dangerous heat and humidity over the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with lows falling into the low to mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny and hot with highs in the low 90s and heat indices between 100-105.

EXTENDED: High pressure holds over the region for the weekend, keeping temperatures above average in the low 90s, and with dew points in the 70s we'll see heat index values between 100-105. A Heat Advisory is in effect for Saturday and Sunday for Columbia, Jefferson City, and areas along I-70. We finally see a major change by the start of next week with a cold front dropping in from the north on Monday, increasing storm chances and significantly cooling temperatures. This front will lift back north by the middle of the week, giving us daily chances for scattered storms along with high temperatures in the low to mid-80s, and lows in the 60s.
