Tracking uncomfortable heat and humidity toward the end of the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the low 70s. Patchy fog developing late.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot with a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 90 with a heat index between 94-97.

EXTENDED: High pressure begins to build in for Friday and the weekend, increasing temperatures and humidity across the region. We'll see highs in the low 90s with dew points in the mid-70s. Heat indices will rise into the range of 98-102 through Sunday. Heat could linger into Monday, but increasing storm chances will provide relief for some by afternoon. The upper level pattern will become more northwesterly by the middle of next week, bringing better potential for rain along with slightly cooler temperatures in the 80s.
