Tracking more showers and storms into Tuesday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with another round of showers and storms late, mainly along and north of I-70. Lows in the low 70s.

TOMORROW: Showers and storms through mid-late afternoon. Some could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. Highs in the mid-upper 80s.

EXTENDED: A frontal boundary responsible for showers and storms on Sunday and Monday will waver over the area most of the week as disturbances move in each day from the west. Some storms could be strong to severe on Tuesday with plenty of instability to work with. Additional rainfall amounts could get past 1". Storms will be limited to the northern half of the area on Wednesday and Thursday with the boundary sitting across northern Missouri and southern Iowa. Highs remain in the upper 80s to around 90. We begin to dry out Friday and into the weekend with high pressure building in, bringing temperatures back into the lower 90s and heat indices in the upper 90s to around 100.
