Tracking return of heat and humidity into next week

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear and mild with lows in the low 70s.

SUNDAY: Partly to mostly sunny and hot, with highs near 90. The heat index will rise into the 92-94 degree range.

EXTENDED: High pressure continues to control our weather into the next week with a few ripples of energy moving through the area, giving us an afternoon chance of storms each day. Humidity increases by Sunday into Monday with the dew points back into the low 70s. The heat index will be in the mid-upper 90s early in the week, rising to near 100 or above by the end of the week into next weekend. Storm chances look more promising by Thursday or Friday despite being under high pressure. A few night time storm complexes may clip us late in the week, bringing relief to the dry conditions.
