Tracking lower humidity, dry weather for holiday weekend

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with lows in the low 70s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy to mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s. The heat index will remain in the lower 90s. A few spotty storms are possible by late afternoon.

EXTENDED: Air temperatures remain warm as we approach the 4th of July weekend, but humidity will relax a bit Saturday and Sunday with dew points getting back into the 60s. This will keep the heat index in check and make it feel a little more comfortable outside. High pressure keeps us dry both days, with evening temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 for fireworks displays. The humidity returns early next week as the high pressure ridge breaks down, getting our heat indices back into the mid-90s each day. Storm chances will be low but not zero, and tied to the peak heat of the day.
