Sunshine breaks out across mid-Missouri

THIS AFTERNOON: Sun is starting to break out across mid-Missouri this afternoon. Temperatures will remain chilly into the upper 20s and low 30s due to heavy snowpack.

TONIGHT: Keep an eye out for slick spots into tonight as temperatures fall into the teens under partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: We're expecting a band of light to moderate snow to move through quickly Friday afternoon. The snow could briefly drop visibilities but it looks to be in and out within an hour or two. We're not expecting too many impacts, but don't let the snow surprise you. The weekend looks quiet with temperatures in the middle 30s again Saturday with partly cloudy skies. More cloud cover moves in Sunday but temperatures get back into the 40s. We're tracking our next storm system for Sunday night into Monday bringing the return of rain chances as a front slides through. If that front brings enough cold air, wintry weather is possible but as of right now, that looks to stay north. Temperatures will try to moderate Tuesday and Wednesday before our next system moves through.
