Man killed in early Saturday shooting in Callaway County
CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ) -
One person died after a shooting in southern Callaway County on Saturday morning.
The Callaway County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook that its deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of State Road CC outside of Steedman at 1:41 a.m. The post said an employee of a business shot a man during a "confrontation."
The post did not say if anyone was taken into custody. The sheriff's office said it was releasing limited details at the time due to the ongoing investigation.
"The Sheriff's Office wishes to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety in the surrounding area," the post said.
