Power restored for nearly 1,500 Columbia customers after outage early Tuesday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Power has been restored for about 1,500 customers after a outage in Columbia early Tuesday morning.

The outage was reported at 12:53 a.m. and power was restored a little before 5 a.m., according to Columbia Water and Light.

The outages occurred near Broadway and Stadium and also near Scott Blvd. and near Old Highway 63 and Business Loop 70, according to the city's outage map.

Columbia Water and Light spokesperson, Matt Nestor said an equipment failure caused homes to lose power.

Nestor said the dampness from Monday's rain caused the issues after a long dry spell.
