Columbia Police to hold training for officers on school safety

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police Department, in partnership with Columbia Public Schools, will conduct training at multiple schools from March 27. through 29. The training is a part of regular and ongoing officer training on school safety and critical incidents.

The department says. multiple emergency vehicles and first responders will be at the schools during the sessions along with an increased number of vehicles for training purposes.

CPD said in a tweet, they want to make the community aware of the training and that no emergencies are occurring.

All aspects of the training are closed to the public.
