Driver killed in rollover crash east of Columbia

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ) -

The driver of a work truck died after his vehicle rolled over east of Columbia on Monday.

Troy Boshears, 22, of Paris, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report did not say if he was wearing a seatbelt.

Gale Blomenkamp, Assistant Chief with the Boone County Fire Protection District, said the truck came off the side of Route Z near Mexico Gravel Road.

The Highway Patrol report says the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, reentered the highway and began to overturn. The truck then traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. The vehicle stopped while it was upright.

The Emery Sapp & Sons cement truck could be seen lying on its side while first responders worked. Blomenkamp said the truck was the only vehicle involved.
