COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Filing for the Columbia School Board closed on Tuesday and two incumbents will not attempt reelection bids.

Helen Wade told ABC 17 she would not run for a fifth term. Columbia School Board President David Seamon also said he won't run for reelection this year.

“After 12 years on the board, I am not filing for re-election again,” Wade told ABC 17 in an email. “I started when my daughter was in Kindergarten and it seems fitting that I finish as she graduates from Rockbridge this May. I hope that I can continue to be of service to CPS and the community in other ways going forwards”

There are seven people who have filed to run for three open spots on the Columbia School Board.
