CVS pharmacies in Missouri to use time delay safes
WOONSOCKET, R.I.
CVS Health on Wednesday announced in a press release that it would be using time delay safes in 800 CVS Pharmacy locations -- including in Target stores -- in 13 states.
That figure includes all 207 of its Missouri pharmacies. There are five locations in Boone and Cole counties.
Other states included are Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, South Carolina, Vermont and Wisconsin, the press release stated.
With this latest installation of time delay safes, CVS Health has now implemented the technology in 45 states.
CVS Health first implemented time delay safe technology in 2015 in CVS Pharmacy locations across Indianapolis, a city experiencing a high volume of pharmacy robberies at the time. The company saw a 70% decline in pharmacy robberies among the Indianapolis stores where time delay safes were installed. Since then, the company has introduced time delay safes across 32 states and the District of Columbia, resulting in a 50% decrease in robberies at those locations.
