House fire in Fulton causes $80,000 in damage

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fulton Fire Department responded to a house fire just before 8:30 p.m Saturday night.

Firefighters said, they went to the story and a half home on the 900 block of West Avenue and found smoke and flames coming from the back of the home.

The resident of the home was outside when fire crews arrived.

According to the fire department, the fire started in the kitchen and caused about $80,000 in damage. The rest of the home did have smoke and water damage.

Investigators say, the fire was accidental and cooking materials were left on the stove unattended.

There were no injuries reported.

The American Red Cross was called to help the resident.
