MSHP Troop F responded to 42 deaths in 2022 as of Saturday

Three people are dead after a crash early Saturday morning. The two vehicle crash happened just outside of Sturgeon on Missouri Highway 22 and Highway Y.

When ABC 17 News Crews arrived at the crash at 4 a.m, they saw multiple emergency crews examing the vehicles involved in the crash.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper David Holliday, MSHP received a call for the wreck at 2 a.m. Upon crews arrival, troopers saw the vehicles involve in the crash on fire.

Trooper Holliday told ABC 17 News, after investigating it was discovered that a white Buick was traveling west bound on Highway 22 when the Buick crossed the centerline causing a head on collision with a Dodge car that was traveling eastbound.

On scene, Trooper Holliday confirmed all the victims were wearing a seat belts. Highway Patrol says they do not know the identities of the victims.

MSHP Troop F has reported six-car crash related deaths in the month of July, and 42 in 2022. According to the MSHP crash report there has been 62 car crashes since June 1st, 22 of those crashes resulted in the injuries of 26 people.

Holiday advises drivers to always take the necessary precautions when operating a vehicle. "Make sure you buckle up, and wear your seatbelt."
