Property damage reported after shooting on McBaine Avenue

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department confirmed Friday shots were fired in central Columbia just before 2:30 a.m.

Officers with flashlights were seen searching McBaine Avenue near Ash Street, placing evidence markers, and speaking with residents inside the damaged property.

CPD confirmed multiple shots were fired, with shell casings being located in the area. The police department also confirmed one home was hit by gunfire.

Police added no one was hurt in the shooting.

At last check, investigators haven't taken anyone into custody. Police didn't have any additional suspect information to share.

Officers cleared the scene on McBaine Avenue just before 3 a.m. and said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
