WATCH REPLAY: City of Fulton warns residents about frozen natural gas wells possibly raising costs

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

The City of Fulton is warning resident about gas wells that have froze over due to low temperatures.

According to the city, natural gas wells in Oklahoma and Texas are causing a shortage of available natural gas, leading to an increase of as much as 100 times the typical purchase price.

The city said in a release that natural gas customers will not see an increase in their utility bill as the City has reserves in its natural gas fund to cover unexpected costs.

However, incurred costs could be passed to customers if prices remain high.

Customers are asked to reduce reduce their usage during the next week due to the price increase.
