Details emerge after 17-year-old charged as an adult in July 2020 second-degree murder case in east Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police release more information regarding a 17-year-old that is being charged as an adult with two counts of 2nd-degree murder.

According to court documents, Columbia police responded to the area of Volunteer Drive and Grace Lane on July 5, 2020.

Once on scene, officers found five gunshot victims. Two of the victim died and three survived.

Witnesses told police that Iseah Jackson was involved in the shooting. The witness told police that Jackson and others came over after an errant firework went over into another yard according to court documents.

One person told police that he fired a shot back at someone matching Jackson's description after Jackson allegedly shot at the witness. The same witness told police that he tackled Jackson and took Jackson's gun away from him according to court documents.

Jackson told police that he was confronted by two men with guns and that he did not remember who fired the first shot, but he did fire his gun.

Jackson's bond was denied.

Jackson's next court date is Feb. 17 and March 3.
