MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Moberly Police responded to an incident at the Clark Gas Station in the 1100 block of north Morley St. after a vehicle caused $20,000 in damage and left the scene.

According to court documents, Dylan Seevers was assisting a local surety bondsman to capture a local fugitive when Seevers was injured after the fugitive drove off.

According to the court documents the officer reviewed video footage of the incident showing Seevers went up to a truck and attempted to get the suspect out of the vehicle. When the suspect didn't respond, Seever's allegedly pulled a weapon and that is when the suspect hit a gas pump, injuring Seevers. Seevers went to an area medical center due to his injuries before police arrived on the scene.

The officer spoke with Seevers at the medical center where Seevers told the officer that he did not have a license for fugitive apprehension.

Seevers told the officer that he had taken all the tests but never applied for the license.

According to court documents, Seevers used a gun that did not belong to him to try and capture the fugitive.

Seevers told the officer that he thought he could participate in fugitive recovery if there was another licensed individual with him. However, according to a witness, Seevers told the licensed individual that Seever's had his license according to court documents.

Moberly police have yet to arrest Seevers.

Seevers is charged with 2nd-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful acts under sec. 374.789 Re. surety recovery agent/bail bondsman.

Seevers has a $35,000 cash only bond.
