Pettis County reports missing ballots found

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Pettis County Clerk announced Thursday morning the missing 1,200 absentee ballots were found in St. Louis.

The Pettis County Clerk announced Wednesday the absentee ballots were lost in the mail.

Pettis County Clerk Nick La Strada said his office delivered the ballots to the post office on Sept. 21.

Pettis County Clerk Nick La Strada said St. Louis Regional District Manager Pam Dunaway told him the 1,200 missing ballots were found.

The post office is sorting through the batch and is driving them to Sedalia to hand-deliver them to La Strada according to the release.

Absentee voting started in Missouri last week. County clerks in Cole and Boone counties have already received many ballots.
