UPDATE: Columbia Police investigating reports of shots fire; CPD can’t confirm actual shooting

UPDATE 10:45 P.M.: According to crews on scene, the reports of shots fired to joint communications CPD has yet to confirm any shooting occurred.

Police told ABC 17 News on scene that no injuries were reported and no property damage.

Police have yet to confirm if the two who were detained according to MU Alerts is related to the shots fired call on 9th and Elm.

Columba Police report that based on what witnesses said and joint communication they believe it was a shots fired call.

UPDATE 10:22 P.M.: MU Alerts keeps updating who Columbia Police are looking for in the shooting at 9th and Elm.

UPDATE 10:17 P.M.: ABC 17 News has a crew on scene that Columbia Police are still searching for one person.

MU Alert is reporting gunshots were fired at Ninth and Elm.


According to the tweet, MU alerts asks everyone to stay away from or leave the area.

Police are responding to the area to investigate.
