Cardinals win fourth-straight series with 10-5 finale victory over Dodgers
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)
The St. Louis Cardinals just keep on rolling. With a 10-5 win over the Dodgers on Sunday, the Red Birds have claimed their fourth straight series victory.
The Cardinals doubled Los Angeles in hits on Sunday 12-6 led by three from Nolan Arenado, three from Tommy Edman and three more from Oscar Mercado.
Mercado was the leading force bringing in five total runs in his 3-for-4 outing. Paul DeJong also went 2-for-3 with four runs brought in.
Jack Flaherty got the start on the hill giving up three runs in nearly five innings pitched. Drew Verhagen threw a scoreless and hitless two innings and Genesis Cabrera shut things down in the ninth.
The Cardinals have won eight of their last ten games and are slowly working their way up the division to third place with a 21-27 record.
Up next, St. Louis will hit the road for a four-game division series with the Reds. Game one starts Monday at 5:40 p.m.
