Cardinals get two wins in their return following a COVID-19 outbreak

CHICAGO, Il (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Cardinals came out of their first doubleheader of many to come with a win on Saturday.

It was the first time St. Louis had been on a diamond in 17 days, due to multiple positive cases of COVID-19 within the ball club.

Even after an over-two week hiatus, the Cardinals looked no worse for wear.

The birds won the first game of the day, 5-1, after a four-run first inning.

The White Sox fought back in the second game coming out with a two-run lead early on.

But, the St. Louis bats heated up again, courtesy of Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O'Niell.

St. Louis will meet the White Sox on Sunday as it will look for the series sweep.
