The Kansas City bats failed to get going in the series finale against Tampa Bay on Sunday, as the Royals fell 3-1. With the KC loss, the four-game series ended in a split.

The Rays out-hit the Royals 7-4 on Sunday afternoon, as Maikel Garcia was the only Kansas City player to register an RBI.

Daniel Lynch got the start on the mound for KC and pitched a solid six innings. He punched out two batters and allowed one earned run on six hits. Taylor Clarke came in in relief and was handed the loss, as a result. He allowed two earned runs in the one inning he pitched.

The Royals did take two out of four games away from the team with the best record in Major League Baseball. On the other hand, Kansas City has the second-worst record in the league, at 22-56 overall.

Up next - KC will return home to host the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, June 27. First pitch is a 7:10 p.m.
