Royals get swept on the road in Baltimore
BALTIMORE, Md. (KMIZ)
The Kansas City Royals continue to get behind in the AL central division after being swept in Baltimore. The Orioles finished the clean sweep of the three-game series on Sunday with an 11-3 victory.
In Sunday's finale, KC got on the board first win a run in the top of the first, but the O's answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame and never turned back. Gunnar Henderson led Baltimore going 3-for-5 with three RBI's.
The Kansas City bats were led by Salvador Perez who was 2-for-4 with twi runs brought in. In the circle, the Royals couldn't seem to find the answer with Carlos Hernandez, Mike Mayers, Jackson Kowar and Nick Wittgren all giving up runs on the hill.
With the three losses at Camden Yards, the Royals fall to 18-47 on the season, including just 1-9 on their last ten outings. This puts KC 14.5 games out of first place in the division.
Up next, the team will return to Kauffman Stadium Monday looking for some much needed wins against the Reds. The three-game series will start Monday at 7:10 p.m.
