MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KMIZ)

The Minnesota Twins got the series sweep against the Kansas City Royals after a 4-0 shut out in the final game on Wednesday.

This wasn't the only shut out for Minnesota, the night before they won 9-0 and they only gave up two total runs throughout the three-game series.

In Wednesday's game, Salvador Perez and Vinnie Pasquantino led things at the plate both going 2-for-4.

Daniel Lynch pitched six innings on the mound for the Royals giving up three earned runs on five hits.

After the sweep, Kansas City stands 15 games out of first place in the American League Central Division.

Up next - The road trip continues as the Royals will stay away for a four-game series against the Rays starting Thursday at 6:10 p.m.
