Cardinals sweep the Red Sox in big offensive outing
BOSTON, Mass. (KMIZ)
The St. Louis Cardinals won the team's second-straight series on Sunday night, with a dominant, 9-1, victory against the Boston Red Sox. With Sunday's win, STL has won six out of its las eight games.
Paul DeJong, Andrew Knizer and Nolan Arenado all homered in the red bird win. Arenado went 2-for-5 with the team high four RBI off of that home run and an RBI single. Lars Nootbar also had a successful day at the dish, as he went 2-for-6 and scored three runs.
Miles Mikolas got the start on the hill for St. Louis. He did not record a single strikeout, but did have a solid outing in the series finale. He threw for six innings with one run allowed on four hits.
Up next - the Cardinals will return home to begin a seven-game home stand. St. Louis will host Milwaukee for a three-game series, beginning on Monday, May 15. First pitch is at 6:45 p.m.
